ABOUT SANDRA REDDIN

Wedding Photographer London

Hello,
I'm Sandra
I'm a Londoner who was born in Kent, the youngest of 6 girls and a bone fide lover of all things wedding!
My career in photography began about 15 years ago but I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember, and still own the box Brownie I was given as a kid. After several years of trotting the globe, I currently live on a canal boat and I find that cruising the canals suits my itchy feet. It also provides me with an ever-changing backdrop to photograph.

I’ve set up home and raised two kids in five different countries and this time spent travelling has given me opportunities in photojournalism, most notably in Russia. After graduating in Russian I accompanied a historian friend, Stella Rock, on many trips whilst she researched pilgrimage. One particular trip was a 250km walk in 5 days, a walk that is not for the faint-hearted and takes place every year, some 550 miles north east of Moscow. Publications and exhibitions followed which was lovely, but I needed more ‘bread and butter’ work which led to me exploring wedding photography.
You can explore this work here.

Why weddings? During my teens, there was a steady stream of parties, engagements and weddings in the house as, one by one, my elder sisters got married. Weddings were often at home with everyone mucking in, arranging flowers (two florist sisters), making dresses (sister seamstress), making the cake (sister baker) etc . These wonderful memories are regularly visited when we look at the family albums. So when I was living in Italy, and a friend asked me to photograph her wedding, I jumped at the chance and haven’t looked back.

When I’m not photographing weddings...
I’m keeping myself afloat (literally!), playing fetch with our new kitten (had no idea cats played ball!) or playing piano (I recently moved the family piano onto my boat). I am also a keen knitter - I have a particularly point hat on the go which I plan to launch on the market soon in memory of our bulldog Buster.
But my big love is my two kids: grown up, arty and musical.
Get in touch, I can't wait to hear all about the big day!

The relaxed London wedding photographer.
Hi, I'm Sandra, a London-based wedding photographer. I've been capturing the magic that is weddings in my distinct documentary style for over 13 years. Together with my amazing team of second shooters, we photograph weddings, engagements and all kinds of family events across the city, the Home Counties and beyond.
MY APPROACH
I will present you with a beautiful set of images you can look at for a lifetime.
Whether you are camera shy or the life and soul of the party my approach is the same. I find your rhythm rather than impose my own.
I approach the day in a story telling way with the aim of documenting all the important bits plus the tiny details that make your day special to you.
On the day itself, I move about quietly amongst the action, chatting to guests where I can, but careful not to interfere with the flow of the day. I'm always on the lookout for interactions between guests, those fly on the wall moments, from the first hellos to the laughs during speeches and gyrations on the dance floor.
About 70% of my shots are candid with the rest being portraits or group shots.
When it comes to the formal group photos, which I'm 100% in favour of by the way, they can be done really quickly, with the minimum of fuss. I have a way of working that makes people feel relaxed, and a ton of cues up my sleeve if people need direction. It's always fun and super relaxed.
It really is all about documenting the day just as you planned it and handing over a record of the day for you to swoon over forever. Most couples tell me they forgot I was there.
Some of them even called me "The ninja". I take that as the highest compliment.
